Sunoco has Kerosene production capability in both Philadelphia and Toledo. Sunoco’s Kerosene is a high quality clean burning fuel used for gas turbine electric generating equipment, blending with on-road diesels for enhanced cold temperature operation as well as for space heating requirements. It is available into barges, pipelines and at numerous truck loading terminals throughout the Sunoco system.
In advance of the 2006 regulations requiring On-road Diesel Fuels to have a maximum sulfur content of 15PPM, Sunoco currently produces approximately 600,000 US Gallons per day of Ultra Low Sulfur Kerosene (ULSD#1) at its Philadelphia Refinery. This product has a maximum sulfur content of 15 PPM, and it is available for barge loading in Philadelphia and now available delivered into trucks at the Sunoco, Belmont Terminal in Philadelphia and the Sunoco Newark, NJ terminal. While it is primarily used as fuel for municipal transit companies, this product will also be an excellent means to ensure cold temperature operations by blending it with ULSD.
